Author Topic: Rules don't apply for everyone...?  (Read 2385 times)

Blockland IDs are non-transferrable
However, people, on many occasions, have given away IDs (In lottos, as prizes for contests, etc.) without getting into any trouble. The only difference I can see between this and what I was doing is that I've had the ID for a while and used it a little a few months ago. Also, I've had my main ID (1197) a lot longer, so it's not as if I'm sharing it since I never use it anyway. Does the "non-transferable" rule not apply for everyone?

Well, there's your problem ma'am!

Nice find, young chap
But yeah, what's going on?

It pertains to the same ID being used in more than one IP frequently. You can switch locations, but if its going back and forth, then obviously its a shared ID and will be deactivated.

The ones Ironcookie and Tingalz gave away were all used; they had name change history, too.

But Ephi said non-transferable, not "non-transferable after x amount of use".

But it's not sharing since I will not use it and haven't been using it.

If you've used the key, that changes everything. What you should be doing is purchasing a new key using the person's email so you have no interaction with the key itself.

They didn't mention that in their post.

I will not use it

Let's say the winner makes you angry somehow, you get butthurt and decide "hm I'll use their key and piss them off!" - this is the reality. Sure you can lie and say you never would, but we have seen this happen on multiple occasions.

If you've used the key, that changes everything. What you should be doing is purchasing a new key using the person's email so you have no interaction with the key itself.

The only problem is that I don't want to spend another $20 when I already have the ID and I never use it. Also, I really doubt anyone who has given away an ID has used this method.

That was the point  :cookieMonster:

Since Zoneark was originally going to be the middle man for Ironcookie's contest, he had possession of the three keys that were being raffled. He had me run the first five characters through my converter to get the ID, and we checked them on RTB's ID list. Tingalz' raffle either consisted of one of the keys he won, or his old key - either way, still used.

The only problem is that I don't want to spend another $20 when I already have the ID and I never use it. Also, I really doubt anyone who has given away an ID has used this method.

Then do it "on the down-low" and risk having it deactivated at some point in the future. Just don't do it on the forums.

The lottos are giving away non-used brand spanking new keys I assume.

That's great. Now people can go ahead and try to guess others keys. Why don't you make one that automatically finds your ID if you put your key in

17 god damn digits, of which only 5 are sequential.
That's 12 of them that are completely random

So I'm only breaking the rules if I tell the truth? This goes against everything I was taught in pre-school D:
