Author Topic: Forwarded ports for mac using posted manual, still not working.  (Read 439 times)

So i followed the instructions for forwarding ports on a mac, and my servers still show up as dead.

I will post screenshots of the steps, to see if I am doing something wrong.

What am I doing wrong.

Dude, I wish I could get that far, my Mac doesn't register my router.

The stickied Mac guide will only work for Airport routers. For other routers use the "router ip into favourite web browser" approach.

Comr4de, a few questions -
Do you have an Airport router? (or other Mac (specific) router)
Are you sure the 10.1.1.5 is your internal IP?
Does the router "save and restart" after you do this?

Yes, but it's one of the new ones with a built in hard drive.

No, I'm not sure thats my internal IP.

No, but it has an update button that restarts the router and updates it.

Ok just checking.

For troubleshooting network issues, you may need to find your IP address. In Mac OSX, you can find your computer's IP address in the "Network" pane of "System Preferences".
Check your IP against the 10.1.1.5

Do you do the update after you have applied the forwarding?

Lack of edit :c
1. Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen.
2. Select "System Preferences".
3. Select "Network" under the "Internet and Network" section.
4. Select which connection you'd like to check in the "Show" drop-down menu. If you're hooked up via ethernet, select "Built In Ethernet". If you have a wireless network, select "AirPort".
5. Select "TCP/IP" on the "Network" screen. Your IP Address will be shown here.

Thanks, I'll try this when I get home.

Wait, does it want the router or IPv4?

IPv4 I do beleve.

Ok, that's what I put, if my server is up, join.
