Author Topic: Guitar; Hao2lern? :c  (Read 1162 times)

So I have had a good guitar for a while now, but I have nothing to learn from. All I have is a first act book that ive read and went over like 10 times.
Anyone know a good guide or anything I can get?
I have a book of black sabbath songs that want to be played when im good D:

Geetar hero! Not really, obviously.

Get a tutor or whatever.

For me personally, I never really had any luck with books, I don't know maybe I don't learn that way, but I needed a teacher. I've gotten pretty good (or atleast I've been told) from this.

I have that guide... it really sucks. I have read it over many many times and can't even get one note right. I'm dead serious.

I can nearly play Through the fire and falmes on expert on that, I always screw up at 3% >:C

Internet is your best friend. Print out sheet music that you'd like to play and start learning. Don't know how it's supposed to sound, watch a video of someone playing the same song. I personally don't play guitar, but a camp councilor of mine did that while we were at camp. He improved dramatically the week we were there.

mmk, I just need to learn the notes  :cookieMonster:
All I can do is open ebgdae and d chord :U

Go onto the internet and download some tabs for songs you know. Start with simple stuff, really. I'd suggest a few Australian rock band songs, they tend to have awesome sounding if not simple Riffs. I use Ultimate-Guitar to find my tabs. Find some AC/DC on there, print off a tab and strum away.

wtf is this confusing stuff? D:

A friend of mine learned to play the piano purely by ear--this strategy may work for guitar.

I tried that, it sounded like 2 year old banging on it with a toy D:

I just picked up a good guitar, learned tabs and chords and stuff, now I play okay. I'd suggest lessons if you really really wanted to get good, though.

Do what I did! Go online, find your favorite songs, find the tabs, play and wah lah viola! you know a song that you like
