Opening wand.dts with Notepad, turning 'word wrap' on and looking at the bottom of the file gives me this:

From there even if you didn't know which was placed where you could attempt putting the emitter at mountPoint, muzzlePoint and retractionPoint. The other sections tell you usable nodes to hide and the shape's textures, very useful for doing other things.

I just meant you didn't need those programs to "look at the dts".

I use Torque ShowTool, which I find convenient for me. Oh well, it depends on how you want to see it.
