Honestly, I've beeng etting pissed off now on how man complaints are there about VCE and all that, titles wanting old variables and more. People obviously don't even try the manual, are too stuffty to do anything or others.

    VCE was made to have
    • Better functions
    • Simpler, easier ways to modify/create/show variables
    • Less spammy log

    Old variables had:
    • Crappy spammy if events
    • Loads of bugs
    • You had to use heck loads of events for just cutting trees, when VCE shortens it alot.

    Too many complaints, sure old variables was fun, but isn't people going way too far by spamming topics about VCE?

VCE is simpler. I like this guide but then again, the old variables didn't had proper features. It also spammed up the events list with lots of ifs. If people say VCE is harder, it means that A) They didn't try the manual and think it's too hard, B) They didn't try VCE due to complaints, C) They're to lazy to download the new one, or D) They didn't even know it was out.


In my opinion, I think it's mostly option A.

I agree, I like the flexibility of VCE, and it's not too hard to use, but it's not compatible with some other event mods I have (or so I think). Also, I was having a problem with displaying variables; it would print <var:pl:EXP> more than half the time. Therefore, I'm using v4 at the moment until I choose to take the time to find a way around my problems.

If you can use it well, would you mind if I PMed you some questions? I'm sure that if the ignorance of using these events bothers you, you'd be glad to help someone less skilled to understand it.

Dude the VCE pwns, and for the people who are too stupid to realize that are just hurting themselves. The VCE has nearly unlimited capabilities, and when mixed with other add-ons like Amade's Bot Events, you can do so much stuff it's not even funny.

Nope. But Bot Events can.
Incase you hav'nt realized, you didnt say anything about Bot Events, only Variables. And BotAttack is good enough to "kick noobie ass".

I agree. Most, if not all people who hate VCE just don't know how to use it and/or don't want to take the time to learn it.

I mean like controlling a bot through the VCE. I can say "Go snipe on that cliff." and he'll go snipe. I can also make it to where Blockheads with ID's over 16000 can't hurt it. XD

I can also make eye candy, like make the bot say differect phrases when you kill it. My bot had a 'skill lock-on' thing that made it to where if you killed it more than the other players, it would chase you more often.

Then there's zone events. Ahh, now the bot knows where it is, and can interact with the environment. I had mine shoot at a block of TNT if a player got close to it. :)

You have obviously never used the old variables.

Old VCE: onActivate -> Player -> addVariable -> logs -> 1
New VCE: onActivate -> Player -> VCE_modVariable -> logs -> Add -> 1

also, one problem, for some reason on my friends server it's unusable due to the white blanks going blank after clicking send for events

No, theres 9 more ways to modify variavle values. Things like to the power, ceil, floor, sqrt, percentage and more super useful ones.

I used to hate VCE for not understanding it, but now I love it. :D

That wasn't really what I was getting at.

They're both 1 line of events and pretty much the same length in the new VCE. That's what I'm trying to point out. :/
