There is rules, peopel just do not read them. If I was an expanding empire, would I stop conquering just because one town is peaceful? No. Raiders raid, that is their job.

Heed, I came here and there were a bunch of boats everywhere and I couldn't find anyone so i thought I'd make a castle and I got pretty far until people started shooting somthing off I have no idea what but it caused lag out the butt. So, if you find a build with a sign saying "the lag drove me away." just letting you know who it was from.

Burning to the ground with firefight mod? Also, how do you take over islands? Can you non-destructivly take over bases? Do you spawn at bases you own?

We cleared all spam, should lag less.

You capture islands by burning them. You can make spawns using setascheckpoint events.

It nearly ruined it for me too, until it became addictingly fun and you had to have teamwork with the rest of your colony. We had people who were in charge of defense, we had people who were the raiders, and we had the people who put the fires out. While attacks went outside of the base to attack the incoming enemies, defenders stayed at the base shooting the cannons and shooting arrows and/or spears. The people who put the fire out would wait with a fire hose... prepared. And when we were building and safe, our invaders would go and take down other bases. It was quite an army.
