Pay to download?

I was trying to find a file on the web and I kept going to the random download sites that required like $5 a month to be able to download files from them. I'm so loving tired of it and I can't imagine what handicapped loving idiot would pay $5 for an account on a site they will use once or twice. It's the stupidest download system ever and I'd rather look at ads.

For example. When I got to Mod DB and I want to download a mod or map for some game and when I click dl I get sent to file shack with a message saying I have to pay 5 dollars to some account so I can download one simple thing that can be downloaded for free.
