Author Topic: Import ethier a .skb file or a .skp file?  (Read 1640 times)

I have made a basic model for a Roman Javelin on Google Sketchpad, I want to import it to Blender to fix some kinks, but I don't know which file to open, the .skb or the .skp. Which one do I use?

You can't import either into Blender.
You have to open the up the SketchUp file with Version 7.1, size it down (Select entire model, hit S key,) because it might be huge when you get it in Blender then in the menu go:
File > Export > 3D Model > .DAE (Collada 1.4)
Then, after that import the model into Blender using the Collada 1.4 importer. Select the model, and click the "Import and Close" button. After that, delete the Empty shape that was created by importing.
Then after this, follow DarkStar's Tutorial.

skb is a backup file. It's the same thing as the skp file.
