I don't want to loving save the link. I want to save the target (usually an image)

Link to your avatar. Right click, save link as; it'll prompt you to save as a .PNG

The one thing I hate abut chrome is how you can't click the back button with your middle mouse button to open it into a new window.

When would you ever need that, that's such an odd feature...

You can always ctrl + click the back button.

I can actually think of something:

You're looking for things, and you find something of interest, but you want to go back to look for more, so you keep that tab open and continue browsing on another tab.

I just open things in new tabs anyway.

Middle click opens the last page in a new tab for me in Chrome, as well as any other link, have you looked in settings? Mine worked fine straight after install.

Chrome is alright, but saving images is a giant pain in the ass, and sometimes when I try to open a link in a new tab; it'll close my current tab and open the link in the new tab, with no way to get back to the previous page.

This only happens to you.

I must have God Chrome because I'm having absolutely no issues with it.

I have God  Chrome, too.

Same for me. God Chrome too.
