PNY Quadro FX5800 4GB

I've seen some prices for it more than $6,000.  Why would anyone buy this if a $600 card with much more capability could plow through anything.  There are even reviews saying that it's bad for gaming.

Who would have thought they made computers for anything besides playing video games?

Pulled this review off of newegg:

This is NOT a gamer's card. If you want gaming, go buy a GTX series nividia product. This card is based off of the GTX280 platform(240 processing cores), but with more ram and optimized through the BIOS for CAD applications.

It's a workstation card. It's $6000 because it goes into the computers of engineering firms that can afford to blow $12,000 on a computer so they can render automobiles and stuff.

Like I said, industrial GPU.

Want to say it again, just to clarify to everyone that you said it?

But now it's not clear whether he actually said it or not.  We must wait for him to say it twice more in separate posts!
