Author Topic: TDMs - I hope you never fight for my country.  (Read 5060 times)

I like the occasional TDM. I like creative ones even more. The thrill of battle, the greatness of victory. But every time I join a TDM server nowadays it's either:

A) CN I BE ON UR TEM? NO? I BE UR PRISONER, PK? I SHOTS RANDMLY WHEN I C MY TEMMATES. - No, loving no, It's war, not "I don't want to be on this team so I sit out, okay?"

B) I spawn with AS 50, Shotgun, and abuncha other 1-hit kill weapons. - For example, on CloneTrooper's hill CTF, I had an AS 50, Silenced Pistol, and heavy Lego blaster. Everyone, excluding me, would use the damn sniper rifle if their target was 2 feet in front of them.

C) Incapable Administration - Take, for example, I joined CloneTroopers hill CTF and I'm having some fun launching a raid against the Red base. I come across a teammate sitting down by a red sniper. "OMG THERE INVADING US!!!" he says, so I end up having my sneak attack killed off. Can't tell you how many people I've banned for such stupidity. So I request that Clone ban him for about a few minutes because he is taking up a player spot and not contributing to his team. The response I got was "Want to see me ban you?".

D) Bunnyhopping - /Headdesk
I see it all the time, especially agitating for DoD:S. In reality, you can't jump 3 feet, honey.

or

E) Poor Team players - "They have our Intel!"
"NOU IM GETING KEELS"
People do not play for the good of the team, they play for kills.

It makes me want to stop my TDM in progress because I know I'll punish lots of people who can't comprehend my 3 simple TDM rules:

1) Snipers - MUST stay behind predetermined line. (I give them the lite version of Gravity's Sniper, less damage. Too often I see snipers where they should not be. On the frontlines.)

2) If you don't help your team, it's Adios.

3) There are no, nor will there ever be any alliances.
tl;dr Get on your feet, you worthless maggots and fight like men.

I gave up on TDMs. I used my oil refinery, and there were two teams. The security firm and the rebels. The security firm was to defend the oil field and refinery with minimal loss of life on both sides. The rebels were to blow stuff up. If the security team people went to the rebel base, the mini reset in a win for the rebels.

The loving mini reset itself thirty seconds after each round started.

Wow. That is sad.

The worst ones are those "Trench TDM's" where you can spam bricks all over the other team, trap people, and can destroy anything, which is complete bull, they should make it where no one but an admin can reset/delete your bricks you place...
(Tl;Dr: Trench TDM's suck IMO)

Wow. That is sad.

Yeah. Even after I started banning for doing this it kept happening. That's why I only do DM's now.

That, and I'm reworking the TDM version.

I couldn't agree more with the entire OP. And another thing that's not really related to TDMs specifically that I absolutely hate is when, for example, you're up on a high spot (roof, tower, etc.) and it just so happens that the only way to get up there is by spawning there. Now, Rhys not the part I hate; it's when morons continuously kill themselves for the sole purpose of getting to a good spawn, i.e. the sniper spot.

What's "Rhys"? Was it a mega typo of "that's"?

Whoops. loving stupid iPod keyboard.

Such as Suburb's trench TDM, he had his admin, Warthog, loving F8ing to spots and shooting my team, and then, when he F8's across the field to "build," he demands nobody kills him or he kills us. (he spawned some kind of high-powered stuff and was killing us over and over, he also abused the portal gun.)
I think the big problem with any server, is that, when you host a server, people don't want to do what you want them to do. You work for the customers, dude.

Ah, I agree. Most of the people who come to TDMs are idiots and the only some of the others are willing to strategise with their team-mates.

Clone Trooper's server is like that. He himself is a big, illogical richard.

Use a player with a lower jump height if it bothers you. In Blockland you recieve double damage if hit while crouched - aim better and you'll win every time.
1) Snipers - MUST stay behind predetermined line. (I give them the lite version of Gravity's Sniper, less damage. Too often I see snipers where they should not be. On the frontlines.)
If I have a choice between a high-power rifle that can instantly kill someone and a little tiny gun that does 3 damage a hit I'll use the rifle at pretty much any range on slow people. If you don't want people doing that, try adding some kind of damage buildup at longer ranges or some reason to fight with the other weapons rather than threatening people with kicks and bans.
