If they actually know and like each other, I'd imagine it to be fine. (So far as either one of them may opt out of it, if they don't wish to get married.)
I'd find it Cruel if he was being put into a planned Marriage with someone from a different family, whom he doesn't know.
So long as they both have the ability to say No, and that they both personally likes each other, I'd say it's a fine Idea.
