Max Weber, sociologist, actually described what constitutes a religion based on three features.
1, it has a following (given, you have to have someone believe in it to be a belief)
2, it has a ritual (whether that be praying or meditating or going to church, etc etc.)
3, it has something it hold sacred (it could range from god, to life, to truth, to some giant rock in the middle of a lake)

Oh and Rex, I still think you are a self-absorbed prick who really is not useful in any way whatsoever, but I do respect what you were saying before about how atheism is not technically a religion. I do apologize for arguing about that.
