Something that is very similar has happened to me too.
Whenever I Alt+Tab to mini-mize my fullscreen'd BL on interior maps such as Bedroom or Under Construction (and sometimes, but rarely, on slate maps too), the textures will forget up when I open it again and turn all these wacky colors.

flushTextureCache(); only makes it worse.

I've had this glitch before.
Changed the lighting to low quality vertex lighting, everything went back to normal.
