Author Topic: Unnecessary overreactions to "Error: While you were typing..."  (Read 1504 times)

For example
In a "true or false" thread (which got too old to let me quote)

Some guy:
"False.
The next person will be Jirue."

Some other guy, not Jirue:
"False.
The next person is a Spy!"

Some other guy, not Jirue either:
"Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post.
GOD DAMMN IT!!!!

false
[...]"

If they got the chance to say that THEY weren't Jirue, would they feel better?
I also see this in places where it's entirely unreasonable, like they're super angry that somebody got to say their opinion while they happened to be in the middle of typing their own.

They seem to think they lose some kind of game every time they ever have the warning message come up.

Yeah, this annoying. I guess they're too stupid to turn it off.

It should be defaultly turned off

It should be defaultly turned off
Turned off by default. Turn on able if wanted.

I have it on to see if I miss any important posts.

Turned off by default. Turn on able if wanted.
*blank stare*
Oh.
...Wait, what? This is an option and off by default? I never turned it on... erh.. at least, I thought.. Ah well. o_O

I'll leave it on, though,
to see if I miss any important posts.

Turned off by default. Turn on able if wanted.
I meant it SHOULD be turned off by default

It should be on by default, as it is a FEATURE that is meant to HELP you.

But people hate many good things because they're arrogant and impatient bitches.

I totally hear you man, it's pretty annoying.

It seemed necessary at the time to me.
He elaborated on why his post being interupted was relevant to the effect of his post, rather than just cussing or being dissapointed.

Oh, you're right.... Well, disregard that, I'm an idiot.
