Author Topic: Desolation - Medieval Roleplay  (Read 21324 times)

Yea, when I first posted the topic many people PMed and IRC'd me about it. But they're the ones who made me decide to stick it out. Also, I'm learning Lua from a friend at the same time so I mix the syntax quite often.

Also, I am in need of some ideas so feel free to post any.
Haha, that's funny. I've been learning a little bit of Lua myself. Now I keep typing %string:getWord(0) in Torque, I wish that worked.

As far as ideas go, the only relevant idea I have is towns. Using physical zones for town areas, you can apply lawful areas as a player, killing other players within a town area gets all bounty bricks inside the town area and tells them to add X amount of bounty to the killer, stuff like that. I've been thinking of prototyping the system myself.

Well, that would seem easy enough. But yea, I wish half of the Lua functions worked in Torque, that would make it so much easier. With enough time you could most likely create a resource pack with Lua type functions.

Also, this is towards everyone.

Should we have Sea Creatures? Meaning monsters that are in the water, like Sharks, SeaDragons, ect..?

Yes, Sea Creatures! By the way, how is the map and when is the beta?

You never sent the map to me, and I'm not sure.

The pike is actually longer then the screenshot shows. For this, what it should do is check if the player with the pike is moving. If not, set pike to true. If a horse collides with the pikeman from the front (Space guy's shield code could be used as reference), tumble and kill the horse and unmount the driver, tumble, and wound him.

Wouldn't it be easier just to check the users velocity and have a maximum player velocity for the prefire sequence? Like if the velocity is more on prefire, cancel it. It would also mean that players would still have to aim it and that anyone running into the stationary projectile would be injured / tumbled.
Don't know if it can be done this way though.

Alright, I made a small list of things we need.

Note: Each model must have a blank texture to allow colorshift.
Quote
BreastPlate - A chest piece?
Greeve - One model, I can assign them to the players Leg(s).
Pauldrons - One model, I can assign them to the players Shoulder(s).
Helm(s) - Both Full and Half.
Shield(s) - Both Kite and Square.

Update:

Finished the Armor System,
Any gear you have equipped is saved.
Finished Monster Spawn Saves
Fixed a major exploint in the inventory.
Finished the Quest System
Finished Quest Saving
Finished the "Use" function for the Inventory
Finished the "Destroy" function for the Inventory

Added Anti-Exploiting system.

It's all getting very far, and hawt. I'll resend the map.

I think you should curve the sides outwards from the center, only slightly though.

No lol, that's not what I meant. I mean curve the sides towards where the player would hold it.
