Author Topic: "Found tracking cookie?"  (Read 2501 times)

I like Chrome, but I feel it will kill me in my sleep because I use Bing as the search engine.

Ew, why on Earth would you use Bing?

You're all idiots.
Tracking cookies are unharmful files used by websites to store basic data, such as maybe game data or your log-in for that website if you're auto-logging in.

I use Bing as the search engine.

You don't like finding things, do you?

Cookies are bits of information saved on your hard drive by websites / browsers to speed up the time it takes to do certain tasks. Some can be malicious.

Nope.

or your log-in for that website if you're auto-logging in.

Nope.

Cookies are just simple (essentially text files) that store basic details such as preferences on a website you're not logged into. They might also store some sort of server session identifier for "remember me" features. They're also heavily used in the affiliate marketing industry. Currently, The worst a cookie can do to be "malicious" is to track the websites you visit. They can't hax you.

^^^

Dont forget they can get your email address, for people to send you tons of spam

My trojans (see page 1) Haven't done anything major except hijack my task manager abilities.

I hope

Get Spybot Search & Destroy
Run it as administrator by right clicking it and selecting the "Run as administrator" option
Find problems (This can take a while)
Then remove
Worked for me

We have google for that. Bing is the evil of the internet. Incase you forgot, let me go over the rules again:
1.Do not speak of /b/ing.
2.Do NOT speak of /b/ing.

I am running my virus scanner and I pulled up 3 trojan horse back doors and a mountain of tracking cookies.(I am at about a half million files now)

Any help?
tracking cookies are really anything but you might want to check out those trojans

Finally got the infected files deleted,
It was my WINAMP Pro 5.5.1640 in the downloads folder.
