What if my 3.2ghz phenom II X4 is overclocked to 4.0?
I'm talking stock.

Ohh... heh. So it can really outperform it? That kinda makes me sad.

Either that or my FPS is messed up. But I can tell it's obviously always over 100 because it's very very smooth.

you can't tell if it's any higher than 60, it's impossible, the human eye works at 60 frames per second.

That's the logic I've always gone by, but I'm not sure how true it is.

By far. My Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz can outperform a 3.2 GHz Phenom II X4 sometimes.

I call bullstuff.

I love how I've been ignored in my own thread. Rather humorous actually.

Well, one of my IRL friends has a Phenom II X4 3.2 GHz PC, and I have a Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz. Our RAM could've been different (his may have been slower, we both have 4 GB DDR2), but I know that mine booted up in about 20 seconds, compared to 30 (both fairly new installs with no programs set to run on startup). We both have GTS 250's (1 GB), his CPU loaded TF2 slower than mine, and his performed slower (I got an average 115 FPS, he got 100).

Edit: Oh, and both PC's were running TF2 on the highest settings, 1280x1024, with no players, on 2fort, looking at more or less the same thing.

Go start -> run, type in dxdiag and go to the display tab to see your graphics card.
And to check your internet connection go to www.speedtest.net

I just looked up benchmarks of a Core 2 Duo 3.2 GHz vs a Phenom II X4 2.0 GHz and although the Core 2 Duo won the majority of the time, Tom's Hardware blamed it on certain applications that are thread optimized for 2 cores and other applications that simply do not scale well with increased cores.  The article was written in 2008, AMD's quad cores have gotten quite a bit better in the past year.  There had to be elements that negatively effected the Phenom II X4, preventing it from beating your processor.  Also, what HDD's do you two have?  Those make quite a difference on startup times.

I have a 7200 RPM (that for the longest time thought was a 5400 RPM) 74 GB hard drive for bootup, and a 1.5 TB hard drive for everything else.

I'm not sure about the size of his, but it is also 7200 RPM.

It doesn't really matter. Mine is clearly the best. (I'm from the future.)
