Author Topic: Computer Graphics Problems  (Read 1203 times)

As you know, because I've been screaming it in every thread I find, I got a new computer. It's all great except that games lag to intense graphics. In games like counter strike source, I always play fine, but now I lag sometimes. Also, Steam always recommended that I have graphics on high (that lagged a lot) when i had my old geforce fx 5200. Now they recommend medium. On TF2, im lagging a LOT when explosions of gore turn up. Also, my view distance decreased so much that I can't snipe. It's like a foggy weather effect.

So TL;DR (and other important facts)
Before: Geforce FX 5200, lagged because of processor, TF2 recomends high, sucky texture and player models.

Now:Intel GMA 3100, lag because of intense graphics, TF2 recomends medium, better lighting and player models. Also foggy maps decrease view distance.

Halp please?

Intel cards aren't good for gaming.

But if you go on youtube and search my chip set, it will give you a bunch of games on max settings.

also found out that for some reason, when i kill in lugaru, i get a lag spike

Do you have latest drivers?

Intel chips aren't good for gaming.
All intel graphics are integrated chips. They're awful for gaming.

Solution: Get a dedicated graphics card.

I just like to call them all cards. :c

You need a new card oromis.  There is no way to noticeably improve performance.  I would love to see a video of the GMA 3100 running a not-super-stuffty game on max.

Would I not lag if I bring my geforce fx over to my new computer?

and i dont have any recorders, all of them lag me so :c

Im so confused as to why lugaru lags. Do I need to download some physics improver thing?

You could get much better card too as 5000 series are pretty old. If you don't go for latest cards, you could get one for pretty good price.

What processor do you have?

It would be better, yes but make sure your graphics card is compatible with your new computer.

That is pretty good card.

No it isn't good, better than what you have, but not good.

Get that at least.  It's much better than the card you picked out.

okay, but what worries my mostly is the foggy maps, is there a way to fix that without getting a new graphics card? I wish to resume my headshotting
