It's definitely the greatest rap in the world. I miss rap that promoted ethical stuff.

Also, this was made in '92.

Anti pirating =/= ethical

Don't copy that floppy! No origin trail!?

This was a comment on the channel page of that video's uploader:

Quote
Without piracy, the development world would be stagnant.

"Stealing implies ownership" -V
Piracy is not stealing

This is the kind of stuff people use to justify theft. "Stealing implies ownership," so I can walk into peoples' houses and steal their TV, but it's okay as long as I'm implying ownership?

THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION TO BREAKING THE LAW.

That being said, this was also a channel comment:

Quote
All these years and your music still sucks. I for one, will not copy this.

I got a decent lol out of that.

THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION TO BREAKING THE LAW.

Are you saying every law in existence is justified?

Also, piracy isn't stealing because you don't take the original. It's just copying.  :cookieMonster:

Are you saying every law in existence is justified?

I'm speaking specifically about piracy in this case.

Also, piracy isn't stealing because you don't take the original. It's just copying.  :cookieMonster:

That's still stealing.

That's still stealing.

Uh, no, no it's not, it's wrong, it's against the law but it is not stealing.

Quote from: Wikipedia
In criminal law, theft is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent.

When software doesn't belong to you because you haven't paid for it, that is 'the illegal taking of another person's property'. How is it not stealing?

Noun: stealing
1. The act of taking something from someone unlawfully

Verb: steal
1. Take without the owner's consent

"take" in this case, Being the Verb: Get into one's hands, take physically, "Take a cookie!"; "Can you take this bag, please"

Copying not being taking makes copying not stealing.

However, as i said, it is wrong and it's still illegal, it's just not stealing.

The lack of basic word meaning by the general populace non-withstanding, the reason so many are going around screaming "stealing! they R stole my music! They steal my video game!" Is because it sounds so much more heinous then "copying".

EDIT: Of course in my opinion that's still not a good reason to butcher the English language and changing word meanings to suit your company's ad campaign should be criminal in itself.

Copying not being taking makes copying not stealing.

So now you're saying the only feasible way to define 'steal' is to use the literal meaning of the word 'take'. So do baseball players literally 'steal' second base? Do the rip it out of the ground and walk away with it? They can't possibly be implying 'steal', I mean we have to use the literal meaning right?

Of course in my opinion that's still not a good reason to butcher the English language and changing word meanings to suit your company's ad campaign should be criminal in itself.

Since when are implied meanings considered butchering a language?

Given your lack of education it's understandable that you have no real retort.
