Author Topic: Do YOU believe in God?  (Read 23663 times)

Yes, but notice how allof those frases relate to people in the past? And how they have nothing pointed at you?

I hate people who disregard the old testament claiming that the bible adjusts to modern times.  What a load of bullstuff.

That doesn't mean that the same majority of people that are religious are idiots. If you take a sampling of 80 people from a group of 100, return those people to the group and take another sampling of 80 people from the same group statistically you will only have a 64% overlap, meaning (logically) that 17/100 of people are either religious and not an idiot or an idiot and not religious.
The question is; Who are the exceptions?

Ok I accept your beliefs. Everyone is different.

The question is; Who are the exceptions?

Sirrus is definitely an exception.

Then how was the bing bang created?

Explain this.

Ok I accept your beliefs. Everyone is different.

But your beliefs say everybody has to be the same or they die.

????

That's assuming there is no correlation between idiocy and religiosity.

No you don't. You believe we're going to suffer for eternity.

Sirrus is definitely an exception.

He said the point of music wasn't to sound good.

???

Explain this.

You're assuming that something did that. By saying that something MUST have created it, you are using God to replace your lack of knowledge. That is the logical fallacy of argument from ignorance.

No one can prove a god exists, nor that one does not exist. So anything that is aimed at that is bullstuff.

Personally, I've grown up in a Christian-ish life. My parents are Christian, my oldest brother is Christian (or is in that direction). I'm quite sure my little brother doesn't care.

As for me, I consider myself in the position that is in the middle.
I think it is very possible God made the Earth and such, but it is not something we can confirm. So it is like living with the chance that you may be wrong, so it is not easy.
If we are wrong, what next? If we are right, it's either Hell or Heaven. Not the greatest of choices.

As a Christian, you are suppose to believe in him and follow him (or so I've gathered).
I do not understand what it means to follow him, so that is something I don't do at this point in my life. However I could say I believe that he exists, as I do not think we evolved from a damn pond scum, or some other thing. But what do I know? I hate science.

Either way, I am in the middle of this. I do not believe I could truthfully say I believe, but I do not believe I could truthfully say I don't.

Edit: Also,

You avoiding my question invr3ted what caused the big bang?

Then how was the bing bang created?

Tom, I'm disappointed.  Why are you trying to prove them wrong?  When you try and prove a religion wrong you will a) look like a jackass and b) give your religion a bad name.
And this goes for atheists, too.

You avoiding my question invr3ted what caused the big bang?

I said we don't know. You cannot assume it was God because there is no evidence.
