Looks good.IMO: It would look more blocky and toy like if you removed the trigger guard.But, that's just me.

Yeah, i see what you did there.To me; they are both good.The trigger change is hard to tell anyways.

Whats your exporter doing? I might be able to help.
The hierarchy are the emptys called Detail# and shape and stuff (I hope you know what this is), I don't think that would affect the model in-game but give it a go while manually setting up the emptys.
You should have the mesh a child of the Armature, then the Armature a child of Detail32.
