Author Topic: Someone said you can plug directly in to the modem, in lue of port forwarding?  (Read 411 times)

Is this true? If so, than do you still need a static IP address?

If your dsl you might not be able to avoid port forwarding.

But cable, just don't use a router. ANd tada, no ports to worry about

Um, I'll ask which I am. Thanks.

ASDF, DSL. If I port forwarded, and did this, would I still need a static IP address?

Dsl modems are built in with a router. And you may not have a choice.

But cable, if you really can't figure out forwarding, just unplug the damn thing and run that single ethernet cord from the moden directly to your comp.

Ugh, all right. My dad won't let me port forward. Locking.
