Author Topic: Computer dead.  (Read 1004 times)

Hey, guys. I feel like I'm using you all but you always have the right answers.

Anyway, I was using my computer an hour or so ago. The fan has been getting louder on it, my dad simply said it's most likely dying. Anyway, I put it on stand by and left. It powered down as usual. Then my sister came in a little while later and asked me to go upstairs with her and I did. She had said the computer would not start and it didn't indeed. I tried everything in my ability to get it working again yet it didn't work. I used a different power cord and checked to see if there was anything wrong with it and there wasn't anything evident. I unplugged and plugged the cords all back in, I even looked inside to see if anything from the power button to the motherboard was disconnected. Everything was fine. I hit the power button, flipped the power switch on the rear a few times and still no luck. No lights, whirs, beeps or anything. Nothing starts.

Any suggestions?

I'm gonna say the PSU is dead. (Power supply).

I found that from Google, it said it was the most obvious thing. If it wasn't that, the site said, than something else was dead.us

Is there a thing as a Fried CPU?

If the CPU was fried, it would show some signs of the rest of the PC turning on.
Either turning on for a second, then shutting right back off, or staying on with the CPU cooling fan on max speed, or some other indication.

When I look at Caution's avatar it makes me feel like I was high. Perfect moment to say...

I don't know what is going on, but I see pretty colors.

Either the PSU or some connection early on the mobo, as it's not even initiating. Your sister did it!

Well, how much does an average one cost that's decent? I checked on Ebay and apparently an average one is $20-$30.

I will be like every other person.

I think you might have a problem with your PSU.

My computer's being a grumpy snakeh to me probably because I overused the emergency button. Now I only get a minute of internet and Blockland crashes the desktop.

Frankly, I feel sorry for you.

Sucks to have a computer crash without permission. Huh, Windows. You are not the creator of all.
