Author Topic: Blender flatshading?  (Read 625 times)

Ok so i started learning how to model in 3D bout 4 days ago and i think I'm doing quite well, though i have a question about flatshading:
Is it possible in Blender, and if it is, how can i achieve that in Blender and what is the point of it? :P
Will be looking forward for some answers here :D

EDIT: Also another question: what is the suggested number of faces on a (weapon) model?

press "set solid"

you can also select part of the model in edit mode and press "set solid" to flatshade only that part.

Ok thx but what if i select the whole thing and just hit the solid button, does it make any difference?

I just finished this, have been working for couple of hours :P

Need opinions...(First model and yes, the lighting is bad)

I cant see it.
Fix the lighting.

Nonono. BAD LIGHTING.
Use a "Hemisphere" light instead of a "Lamp" light.
Other than that, it's great.

Wait. I just press the "Set solid" button with the whole model selected and export it as .dts and it counts as flatshading?! It was THAT simple? D= By the way, can you use both flat and smoothshading on one model? Does it work?

Yes, Demian. You can smooth-shade and flatshade different meshes.
