Author Topic: When you first bought Blockland  (Read 9945 times)

1. Googled sandbox games or something.
2. Hacked the brick limit to more than 500.
3. I wanted to play online.

1. I found this game after someone said in a skulltag deathmatch server back in 2007 saying
something along the lines of "This game sucks almost as bad as blockland and
that game sucked"

2. Made a badly made room with a computer in the center

3. Wanted to play online.

1. I was checking LEGO Universe videos on YouTube, and it linked to a video about Space Guy's Portal Gun.
2. What I first did was messing around with bricks and guns and Rocket Launchers and stuff.
3 I bought it because it was so awesome.

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc
Someone on a popular BIONICLE forums known as BZPower created a topic about TBM. Yes, that's how I found out about Blockland.
I tried to do everything in TBM. It was awfully confusing and awful. Everyone was a jackass and refused to help.

So I went to v0002. Plain old vanilla v0002.
I "got married" (lol), made houses with generally nice people, and then one day, someone from RTB joined the server.
He told us of all the cool things like more colors, protection for your own bricks, bricks, and possibilities.

So I got RTB, RTB 1.043 to be exact. Had my share of fun and building. Made friends, made enemies. Etc etc.

Then retail came out.
If you're smart enough/back here way back when, you'd know the community was split into the people who bought retail and the people stayed with the old Blockland and tried to make their own sequel or something. I chose the ones who stuck with old blockland. I don't know why, I just did.

Eventually it fell apart within less than a year, not surprising.
I bought retail on January 1st, 2008, ID 3614. I'm assuming I'm the first of the new year because it was at around 2 AM-ish. It was a boring new years, shush.

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo
I built something that looked almost exactly like the demo house. Literally.
Then a small stable.

3. Why you bought Blockland
I bought it because the "retail rebellion" was NOT working at all. It was like a car that was going down a hill, but then it had to overcome a hill of inactivity and it couldn't get there.
Plus it was TEN times better than whatever we had planned.

1. Ads from a site I don't know anymore
2. I downloaded a bot and renamed it and I shot it
3. 150 bricks were not enough.

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc

I found it on google as "that game where you build stuff" because I had searched for "building game". I downloaded v0002 and played for 2 hours getting used to the controls and building a bit.

Then this other guy joined the server and said he was from "RTB" and that it was a mod which improved the whole game. I had seen all the [RTB] servers in the list but couldn't join them. Then I downloaded RTB and went on some servers as "Luigi" (Original names go!). It was in RTB v1.044. Had lots of fun and soon learned about how to use the editor wand and later got the name "Chefkokkie". I tried out TBM, Zombase and AiO but I got bored of them really quick.

Then retail came out.

I stuck with them until I bought Retail somewhere in July 2008, ID 5893.
Sometimes (not often) I go play RTB 1.045 again, still have it and all my saves and mods.

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo

Make a wall of music bricks and be disappointed that there was a too loud limit.

3. Why you bought Blockland

I bought it because the "retail rebellion" was NOT working at all. It was like a car that was going down a hill, but then it had to overcome a hill of inactivity and it couldn't get there.

Almost all smart people had bought Retail making RTB 1.045 overfilled with idiots. Eventually bought Retail.

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc

I was frequently on Armor Games and decided to check it out after seeing the ad countless times while playing games.

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo

I played the tutorial, then built a staircase made of 150 1x4 bricks.

3. Why you bought Blockland

My staircase needed to be higher.
Holy stuff!
2. and 3. are the same for me, except I made 150 2x6 bricks. :D

Well, I was checking out a few MMO games. Then I saw an ad of Blockland. I clicked it and downloaded it.
I started out by walking...then jetting and killing myself. Then I blew up vehicles with a Rocket Launcher...until I wanted to build. So I started to build a castle and couldn't finish.
A few days later, I decided to buy Blockland.
I finished my castle...and.....that's it.

I found an ad on Dan-Ball while playing powder game. I ignored it for a while. After looking at it, I guess I'd give it a try and bought it in 2006 or 2007. The first thing I tried to build was small robot. I bought the game because it is fun.

1) One of my Friends in RL suggested it to me, and after ages of being bugged about it, I decided I'd test it out.
2) I guess I played around with certain DemoBuilds and messed around with the vehicles.
3) I forgot about it for some time and then my friend brought it up again. I got back into the Demo for a bit then decided I wanted the full game. My parents brought it for me on my Birthday, I think. I guess my main want though was to play online with my friend. Also, some of my really crappy Demo Builds just needed to be bigger and complete. Not that they ever were completed after I got the full version.

1.I was watching some Roblox Building tutorials on Youtube and stumbled onto a Blockland vid,I watched it and was satisfied that it was better then roblox.

2.I played the demo then built a fort in the bedroom and used the sword alot.

3.I got tired of playing Blockland v7 demo so I bought v9 so I bought it,and then it updated to v10.

I saw a Roblox ad and mentioned it to Zenith over XFire, and he told me that Roblox sucks, then he gave me a link to the download.

I got on the demo and immediately understood the event system, and building.

I bought the game so I could try a hand at a new community.
