Author Topic: When you first bought Blockland  (Read 10022 times)

Like Mack, BL led me into Steam, TF2, HL2, Gmod, etc.
I came from Roblox, watching videos and saw stuff about BL in related.
I DL'd the demo and played it for a month and then bought it.
I first went to a freebuild and figured out how to do things overtime.
Now here I am today, still bad ad building, eventing, scripting, and modeling. :(

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc
People were talking about it in http://challengeyou.com

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo
I went to the tutorial, then built a tower.

3. Why you bought Blockland
Because ChallengeYou had so many limits and had really bad graphics.

It was an ad on- some website, I forget. This was back during v7. Then I forgot about BL for a year, then stumbled upon it again in 09.

Loaded demo house and wondered how to paint bricks because I ignored the tutorial.

I had the money and spring break was sucking.

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc
My older brother showed it to me. I do not know how he found it, but I think some online friends of his showed it to him.

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo
I never played the demo. I first played v0002, which I first explored the available maps.

3. Why you bought Blockland
Because I had played it for two years before the game was released and enjoyed it.

Uno. Some website called free massively multiplayer online games.

Dos. Screw around and stuff, I even tried making a fort thing on the ceiling lamp in the kitchen. Loolz.

Tres. Cause I saw how many people were playing on the server list and was like OMGWTFBBQIWUNT! So I bought with 20 bucks I got from Christmas last year (2008 not 2009). First thing I did was go to a server and be like "HURR I M NU AND I ARE NUB".

1. dan-ball.jp, I saw the ad with an astronaut blockhead floating over crysta castle.

I love that site, which, coincidentally, was also where I saw the ad. Furthermore:

2. I loaded the demo house and proceeded to kill myself multiple times by jumping on the fire. After that got boring I began to blast apart the house with the provided rocket launcher and continued to get frustrated because the bricks kept respawning. Then I experimented with the wrench by setting the whole house on fire. After that I cleared the house and started building a stuffload of crappy torches until I hit the brick limit. This was back in v9 or 10 I believe.
3. I needed more fire.

1. I kept seeing people mention it on Roblox, occasionally. So, I decided I would see what it was like.

2. Drove a jeep around on the slopes, found some hidden places, started building a little house inside one of the kitchen cupboards, made a quick video, and bought it.

3. It's awesome.

1. I saw a utube video of TBM, It didn't say tbm on the title, and I didn't know what it was, so I looked for blockland coz it was in the tags.

2. I looked around, in awe at how much better graphics there were than runescape.

3. I was too thick to know how to build, and jetting around randomly gets boring after a while...

Found v0002 when just randomly searching for shat.

Was suprized at how (retail) had better the vehicle spawning was than TBM ( Yes, knock me out :P)

Bought it because of how much longtivity.

BEST 20$ EVER

1. idk
2. i built what else would i do
3. ITS AWSOME

1. I was looking for instructions for a LEGO USS Enterprise. It was on an ad on the top of the brickshelf site's Enterprise page.
2. Started building crazy courses to kill myself on the jeep.
3. I had an extra $20.

1. I found it here.

2. Ran out of bricks, looked for free building games and found RTB, played it a lot and got bored.

3. It's awesome.

1. How you found out about Blockland, what website, etc
Back in mid 2007, from a friend who still does not own retail.

2. The first thing you did in the Blockland Demo
Tried to build a red staircase out of 2x6 bricks in order to get to the counter on the kitchen. (I didn't know we could jet.)

3. Why you bought Blockland
Because I saw the USSR halloween server on the server list, and really wanted to be able to join it. (And also got frustrated with the brick limit and such.)
