Author Topic: Why aren't failbinned items bad-on'd?  (Read 980 times)

Often, many people get it before it's failbinned, and so it's still in use. People also spread it off this forum, so it doesn't make sense to me.

Older version, edited by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, THEN failbinned? idk

That or the bad-on scanner cant scan older versions of things?

Usually, failbinned items can be fixed.

I mean abusive ones, like mute script.

What, its not abusive.

This is why some add-ons go to fail-bin

1. Spamy Projectiles, edmitters, ect.
2. Horible .dts file
3. Dosnt work
4. Syntax Errors
5. Runtime Errors
6. C++ Errors
7. Abusive
8. Crashes player
9. Crashes server
10. Sucks and dosnt fit with community
11. Too detailed = Lag

Theres alot more that I cant post right now

Only popular ones get crap oned

No, that can't happen, you're stupid.
I think Torque script is vaguely related to C#, which is also vaguely related to C++.

And yes there ARE C++ errors possible. I think Buffer Overrun is one of them.

Add-ons can quite regularly be the cause of C++ errors within the engine (although this shouldn't be possible using a scripting language). I suggest you learn a bit more about things before you go around calling other people stupid.

hey Mr, You're stupid! See I can do it without knowledge of C++. But in all seriousness I find it amusing when someone actually manages to crash Blockland with a C++ error.

Is that what happened with the 880 rifle?

this :cookieMonster:
on a more serious note, it`s mostly attributed to oversight, because if an add-on has such low quality that it`s failbinned, it should also be crap-on`d.
however, crap-oning is usually to prevent bad add-ons from messing up your game, and if you are able to fix it, you would be able to change the add-on`s name, too.
