Author Topic: Will this work? (PS3 question)  (Read 750 times)

I am trying to get a Soul Calibur 3 save to work on PS3, but every time I try it is messed up. Will this method work?

  • 0. Insert a USB device
  • 1. Go to Save Data Utility
  • 2. Go to Soulcalubur IV
  • 3. Press Triangle on the data and then click Copy
  • 4. Copy onto the USB device
  • 5. Insert the device into your computer
  • 6. On your device there will be a folder named PS3, inside which there is a folder named SAVEDATA, inside which there is a folder named BLUS#####, where each # is replaced by an actual number. In there is the SC4 save data.
  • 7. The data should consist of 5 separate files: ICON0.png, PARAM.pfd, PARAM.sfo, PIC1.png, SAVE.dat
  • 8. Your new save data must consist of all of these parts. If it does, then copy the originals onto your PC (just in case), then remove them from the folder. If it doesn't, then it will not work.
  • 9. Put all 5 files of the new data into the now-empty BLUS##### folder
  • 10. Reinsert the device into your console, go to Save Data Utility, scroll all the way up to the top (to your USB device), open it, and if it's in the correct format, the data should be right there. If it isn't, your data is not in the right format and cannot be used, so put the original back (good thing you backed it up).
(p.s|Sorry for the barrage of topics lately, I just got a PS3 a few days ago and have a few games. I have some questions =\)

This may seem kind of confusing if you don't have any experience using USB devices on your PS3. I'll try to break it down into steps.
0. Insert a USB device
1. Go to Save Data Utility
2. Go to Soulcalubur IV
3. Press Triangle on the data and then click Copy
4. Copy onto the USB device
5. Insert the device into your computer
6. On your device there will be a folder named PS3, inside which there is a folder named SAVEDATA, inside which there is a folder named BLUS#####, where each # is replaced by an actual number. In there is the SC4 save data.
7. The data should consist of 5 separate files: ICON0.png, PARAM.pfd, PARAM.sfo, PIC1.png, SAVE.dat
8. Your new save data must consist of all of these parts. If it does, then copy the originals onto your PC (just in case), then remove them from the folder. If it doesn't, then it will not work.
9. Put all 5 files of the new data into the now-empty BLUS##### folder
10. Reinsert the device into your console, go to Save Data Utility, scroll all the way up to the top (to your USB device), open it, and if it's in the correct format, the data should be right there. If it isn't, your data is not in the right format and cannot be used, so put the original back (good thing you backed it up).

What are you trying to do? Just save the damn thing

I'm trying to get a save working that I downloaded from the internet. I like to play the game and all but its funner when I unlock all weapons/characters/custom parts. And the easiest way to do that is by downloading a 100% save from the internet. But when I tried it last time, it wouldn't work. So that's why I asked this.

God damnit people, Stop using code for non code things.
ITS FOR CODE.
Code automatically wraps its self so with the code tag it can cause page stretches, it never goes down a line if you dont.

How is that more fun?

Also, the method looks like it would work, you're probably not doing something right. That or the save is corrupt.

Guys, be prepared for ARC!

OT: Just loving play the game without saves you didn't make.

This

I understand what your saying. I've never done this, but I have copied a Borderlands save and it was on my usb when I put it in to put music on it. Being curious, I opened it and all those files were there. If what you said is that you downloaded all those files, then your going to put them on your PS3? Then yes, in retrospect, it should work. Also, CHEATAR >.>

Yes this method does work. Unless you forget something up along the way it will let you cheat
