You can't get a Snowboard to move on a flat surface in real life, you need to be on a slanted surface

I don't see a question in that quote, but I think I know what you are asking. He creator of this add-on is making it an Item. This way when your body touches the ground you will tumble like when you are on the skis, and the Snowboard will be placed back in your inventory. This way, you will not get stuck underground.

Sorry for huge bump buut..... I have found a bug with the snowboard. It appears you can fly with it.

When in mid air after a jump, hold in w and a or d and you will fly forwards!
