You can't mention anything about God on this forum without it erupting.

I think you should know that by now.

I never said that.  I said it as a response to a creationist who calls modern science a conspiracy and decides all scientific discoveries in the area of evolution are false.  I didn't invalidate Christianity, I said it wasn't perfect.  You misread it.

In religion such as Christianity Science is created as the final barrier you must cross to salvation. It means Science was created by God to fool Humans, and in the same time make it a test of faith.

It is impossible to argue with what I just said, your argument limits only end to the point where science and the laws of physics let you.

Bottom line, Science is a test of faith, basically it was created to fool us.

People like them are what the general stereotype of atheists is built upon
If atheists were more agreeable with Christians then I'd have a way easier time talking to them.

I think they're usually so bitter because a Christian has at some point berated them for not believing in God. I think this video kind of indirectly addresses that issue, or at least addresses issues under the same umbrella. Christianity should not be built upon trying to forcefully convert other people or berating them for their beliefs, it's about loving others as you love yourself.

In fact, Jesus sums it up pretty well here, in Matthew 22:36-40

36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Are you a Christian Riot? Just curious.

Unfortunately god also advocates these things:
1 Samuel, chapter 15, verse 3: "Go now and put Amalek to the sword, putting to the curse all they have, without mercy: put to death every man and woman, every child and baby at the breast, every ox and sheep, camel and ***."

God orders the destruction of an entire city, including children and even breastfeeding babies.

Hosea, chapter 13, verse 16 (chapter 14, verse 1 in some translations): "Samaria will be made waste, for she has gone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open."

Numbers, chapter 31, verses 17-18: "So now put every male child to death, and every woman who has had love relations with a man. But all the female children who have had no love relations with men, you may keep for yourselves."

Isiah chapter 13, verse 16: "Their young children will be broken up before their eyes; their goods will be taken away, and their wives made the property of others."

Updated the post just for you, Sirrus.

wat

Science was not created by God. Science is simply a method to understand reality.

And to Duckmeister, I assume you believe every animal that has been fossilized existed at the same time right after creation. If this is so, how would the biosphere be able to support so many species? There are not enough niches, and too many animals that fill the same ones.

This also means that eventually every form of life will go extinct because new species cannot emerge. That kind of sustainable creation is this? Or does God just want to stuff on everything when Jesus comes back?

Of course, modern science is an atheist conspiracy so why even pay attention to the fossil record.

If atheists were more agreeable with Christians then I'd have a way easier time talking to them.

It's because Christians and many religions make the assumption that atheists are unsaved.

It's kind of conceited to assume that someone you barely know anything about is going to hell, is it not?

Let's find some more fun bible quotes:

Mark.7:9-13  "Whoever curses father or mother shall die"  (Mark 7:10 NAB)

Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets.  He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament.  "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.  I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.  Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place."  (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

“...the scripture cannot be broken.” --Jesus Christ, John 10:35

EDIT:

Should we covet?  Exodus 20:17 says, “Thou shalt not covet . . . anything that is thy neighbor’s,” while 1 Corinthians 12:31 says, “Covet earnestly the best gifts.”  So, are we or are we not to covet?

Is lying okay?  Exodus 20:16.  Proverbs 12:22 & Revelations 21:8 all say lying is forbidden.  Joshua 2:4-6, Exodus 1:18-20 & 1 Kings 22:21-22 all support lying.

Can we kill?  Exodus 20:13 says “thou shalt not kill”.  Exodus 32:27, Numbers 31, and THOUSANDS of other verses show God commanding us to kill.

Can't we all just loving get along.

Let's see what the bible says about that, solid!

Jesus is quoted in Matthew 7:1-2: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged.”  Also see Luke 6:37 & 1 Corinthians 5:12.  Now take a look at “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment”  (John 7:24).  Also note 1 Corinthians 5:12 & 6:2-4. WEll what about just being angry at the other side?  Ephesians 4:26 says “Be ye angry and sin not not.”  Anger is disapproved in Ecciesiastes 7:9 “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Proverbs 22:24 “Make no friendship with an angry man.”  Also see James 1:20.

Can't we all just loving get along.

I'm right you're wrong

My opinion > your opinion

Can't we all just loving get along.
Best words to come out of this thread so far.

hi guys

This is one of the reasons I hate your religion and all the stuffty ones like it.

Unfortunately god also advocates these things:
1 Samuel, chapter 15, verse 3: "Go now and put Amalek to the sword, putting to the curse all they have, without mercy: put to death every man and woman, every child and baby at the breast, every ox and sheep, camel and ***."

Yes, but children are children no matter what their age is, You're taking the meaning far too literally. I'm 28 and I'm still a child of my father as he is 60 and is still the child of his father. You just assume that God is a baby killer, well so are some Vietnam Vets, yet people still honor them despite the few atrocities they committed in the name of Freedom and the American way. So by comparison, we screwed up things just as much as God did back then. All in the name of something we think we have such a firm and steadfast belief in. Just think about it for a bit.
