How much of an upgrade do i need?

Pretty explanatory, i finally earned $1000 freespending money, and i want to get a new computer.

I dont want to buy from newegg, dont go there... I want to have my computer prebuilt to my specs, (Like dell does) and sent.

I want a good workstation for college AND gaming...

LIke, crysis and stuff, this computer does not help on e bit for college.

I can hardly run hl2 on med settings.

The main well for Crysis I would go for 2-3GB RAM and a nice graphics card can help alot of your games run faster. For Crysis they suggest NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar but i would go a little higher for other games coming out.

The benchmarks are pretty good for something around $650. I read this in my copy of the magazine by the way.
