Author Topic: NYC Twin Towers  (Read 22767 times)

Hello, this is my first post in blockland forums. Well i show you my masterpiece (and my second build) that took me two weeks to build using macro more than the duplicator, and it's not finished because i have to build WTC 4,5,6 and 7. Actually it contains nearly 60.000 bricks (some of them were custom, like 1x10, 2x10. It doesn't lag, at least in my computer). You would think that the Twin Towers are easy to do because they contain the same bricks and, with the duplicator and macro you're done ! but that's not the case. The Towers don't contain 110 interior stories each (a reason i'm going to explain next), instead North Tower have the Windows of the World restaurant at 110th floor and the South Tower contains the Top of the World indoor (at 107th floor) and outdoor (above the rooftop) observation decks. Trying to do interiors with all the floors caused to finish my first version reaching the 128k brick limit and the North Tower only standing at 57 stories. So i had to do a second version that i'll show you in the next screenshots. I think it's the tallest build ever built in blockland since only the rooftop of both Towers (without counting the outdoor observation deck and the antenna) are even taller than Mr.Block's Slides build which is huge. They are life sized (if not they're so close) and look best in skylands map.

This is amazing for your second build

Awesome, proper use of the duplicator.

Stop atop the spire(antenna) and type this into the console:
echo(serverConnection.getControlOb ject().getTransform());

Stand in the lobby of the same building and type it again:
echo(serverConnection.getControlOb ject().getTransform());

Tell me the

You also did not do the lobby correctly. I remember being there

I bet Mr. Block is pissed.

Very, Very nice

Interesting, the bridge goes into WTC 3?

Thats just plain awesome. You must have some kind of good computer to be able to load that build AND the Golden gate bridge.

Um, I believe that's 120k bricks.

I just think it needs interior work.

Well, that was for a comparison use. My CPU is quad core 2.5Ghz (10Ghz total), 4 Gb Ram and a graphic card of 1024mb.

How lucky you are ! Well I know it but was too late then without starting it all again (if i'm gonna make a 3rd version i will fix that), unfortunately never had the chance to go to NYC before 9/11.

No, the bridge doesn't come with the build. I simply loaded it to see the size comparison.

Very nice. I do like it a lot. But there is one major concern. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but the skeleton on your towers only have two bars going up, when there should be three. It should be almost like a pitchfork kind of design. You should look at the outside of the towers to see what I am saying. Other than that, best rendition of the towers I've seen on Blockland so far, good job.

Yeah, noticed that when started to build it but if it was 3 bars the archs wouldn't look that good. This is not going to be the final version, i'll do 3rd and fix all the things commented here to make it as close and better as it was. Thanks, i'm getting motivated to improve it even more in my 3rd version, and probably if everybody like's it i will release the save with all these things fixed. But it's gonna take much more hard work and time which i'm capable of.
