Author Topic: How do I know if a new video card will be compatible with my mobo?  (Read 538 times)

Title says it all.

I don't know what kind of motherboard I have and I'm getting this video card soon.

If you have PCI-Express 2.0 x16, you'll be fine. If you don't, sucks to be you. Usually you can check by looking up your motherboard or just by remembering what it was when you built it (if you did).

I don't know stuff about my motherboard. I bought it completely assembled about a year ago and just awhile ago started replacing parts.

as was said earlier, if you have PCI Express, you're probably good.  If you're not sure, google it.
