Gmod vs Roblox

Was playing Garry's mod and somebody mentions that Roblox runs on lua, how can this be possible when Gmod runs on lua, but Gmod is actually good...? And they are slightly alot diffrent... according to videos.

GMod doesn't run on lua, GMod runs on source engine and roblox on the ImPlicitNgine Engine. Both can use LUA for add-ons and such.
