Its an epic game
Though it has it's own shortcomings due to the technology at the time.
I do want to remake it.

Got it to work. I had to put the zip in another directory than where it is installing to.

:D But I didn't use the guide.

EDIT: In the zip, the SimEarth Codes are NEEDED or you cannot make a new planet.

Well, I managed to install it, but I'm getting an error when running simearth.exe
Well, you can always stick to SimAnt.

You're not supposed to run simearth.exe, you're supposed to type
Code: [Select]
mount c <path to doxbox folder> (I would suggest c:\dosbox)
c:
cd <folder of whatever you're trying to run> (probably c:\dosbox\simearth)
SIMEARTH
Or something like that, it's been a while since I've used dosbox and I don't have sim earth. Typing HELP and INTRO MOUNT will basically answer all of your questions, there's also a wiki that documents basically everything, even what games work/partially work/don't work and how to get them working. It's after you get the drive mounted it's basically the same as using msdos, minus having to swap floppies all the time.

Alternatively format your computer and install Windows 98.

I have the original CD version that doesn't need DOS box or whatever to run.

You can buy it on the Wii's Virtual Console for 800 points apparently.

And do you think I'm a novice at DosBox? You've got to be joking me. I'm not forgiving you next time.

Tom

I installed it with DosBox and got an error too.

But I might have did something wrong.

The version from Jacob/Lee's link works. Download it.
