So you've scrapped all the weapons?

I'd rather shoot communist guys. :(
No, just put more sensible magazines and made them use less vibrant browns to fit with the whole awful dreary setting.

are you jenxas. he always talked about doing something like this.
No.

I didn't like Fallout 3. I didn't like VATS, I didn't like the graphics, I didn't like the scenery, and I didn't like the general slow gameplay.
That was a good one, almost laughed. Fallout 3 is just a stuffty game.
This isn't a "OK THIS HAS THE WORDS FALLOUT 3 IN IT, I'LL JUST GIVE MY OPINION ON THE GAME EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT RELEVANT" thread, get the forget out of here and make a thread on the games forum if you want to criticise Fallout 3, because I don't honestly give a stuff.

Epic win, Will this jsut be a Fallout3 copy or a semi-original Fallout3-ish gamemode?

The latter, though in many respects it's original: I don't think anyone's attempted making an inventory system of the calibre I'm assembling.

Add something like purchaseable buildings, which you can set permissions (entrance and home and possibly build) for if you own. Permissions would be All/Build/Full/You/Clan (for clans, which should also be supported).

You should also be able to place containers, rather than them existing beforehand, in wherever your home is set. If you change your home, any containers you own in your old home will first be marked as requiring movement and then be set to publicly owned if they're left for too long. Publicly owned containers are removed when emptied, and are accessible by anyone. Certain containers could also support security, which allows you to set who can open them (same permissions as purchaseable buildings). Containers could be:
  • Locker - Holds any weapon or armor if armor exists, security enabled, small number of slots (4 or 6).
  • Ammunition Crate - Holds only ammunition, no security, ten slots and ammunition stacks infinitely in it.
  • Weapon Rack - Holds only weapons, no security, massive number of slots (16 or more). I presume weapons will not stack.
  • Packing Crate - Holds any item, no security, massive number of slots (24) and uses default stacking.
  • Shipping Crate - Same as Packing Crate but with security.
  • Display Case - Holds any item with default stacking, has security but allows anyone to look in it (they simply can't do anything with the contents if they're outside its security), maybe ten slots. Good for home shops!
I do assume that your interiors will simulate the look of bricks (in the case of manmade buildings anyway), so furniture being made of bricks wouldn't be out of the question, correct?

Also, containers that you own should be transferable in ownership to other people manually (ie, of your own accord).

Remember, I'm not demanding, just putting ideas out.

For security, for non-home secure containers there should be lockpicking/hacking(for computer-base security)

I made a logo!
I'm also going to do misc. GUI work, I've already handed one thing in.

BUMP
also Could I be a beta tester?

For all of you asking to beta test, the answer is yes, when everything's complete enough for beta testing.

anyone can be a beta tester. noone? anyone? EVERYONE?
hey, i also wanna be one!

I say make Pip-Boy into Pip-Man for the lolz.

Nonetheless, this looks awesome. Can't wait to try it.

Tuft of chest hair poking out of suit + stubble?

Tuft of chest hair poking out of suit + stubble?
Hell yes.

Oh, needs a cigar and an awesome hat too.

Instead of loading interiors everywhere I think you should consider building them. People will be able to blow up stuff and you can event the buildings to do stuff.

Unless you've already got them made, I think you'll find making the quantity of different interiors you need to be a huge bottleneck in development.
