Author Topic: Problems in Education  (Read 7124 times)

Schools (in the US) are funded by both local neighborhood land value tax, and state tax.

So there actually is a connection with living in a low income ghetto ass area, to bad education.

There's also the thing where you're prevented from going to a better school that's outside your district. If you live somewhere, you're stuck with its stuffty schools.

Hey look loveism in school!

Ex: Girl screams at teacher and gets detention
Guy screams at teacher gets suspended

     Girl hits guy = fine
Guy hits girl (never seen this before) = assault

Also my friend got Extended detention for patting someone on the head -_-

The administration system of my school is about avoiding law suits.

Some of my teachers are ok.

One of them thinks I am a cigarette.

I still think he is alright

A big problem is most of the smart teachers leave or move up to an administrator.

which is why i am homeschooled

Problem: No Child Left Behind.

Agreed. We need to leave to people who don't give a stuff behind.

At my old high school, it was:

Girl hits guy = Warning (Always. It's never more than that.)
Girl hits girl = Warning (And the guys go "Rip her shirt off!", which has happened before. O.o)

Guy hits girl = Expulsion + Fine
Guy hits guy = Fine + Detention

you never hear about people that didnt care about school.
people that cared are living in mansions and hiring you to work for minimum wage in one of their franchise buildings

School is a religion. Without understanding the holy mission aspect you’re certain to misperceive what takes place as a result of human stupidity or venality or even class warfare. All are present in the equation, it’s just that none of these matter very much—even without them, school would move in the same direction. Dewey’s Pedagogic Creed statement of 1897 gives you a clue to the zeitgeist:

Every teacher should realize he is a social servant set apart for the maintenance of the proper social order and the securing of the right social growth. In this way the teacher is always the prophet of the true God and the usherer in of the true kingdom of heaven.

I think thars some problems. :/

I go to a nice school
But based off what Bisjac said, its probably because I live in a wealthy area

Yep. That'll do it. In the cheap neighborhoods, you've got mexican/black gangs, wiggers, and druggies.

I love in a suburb subdivision
there was only 1 fight in class but lots of stupid stuff being learned.
drugs dealers hang out at bustop.
and the teachers get furious at students who make jokes.
i assume they have gone through 3 teachers now.

Do you even know what that means? There is no god is schools anymore or at least mine

It's illegal to teach that God exists in public schools.

It's only in the pledge of allegiance because of McCarthyism.

I'm saying that teachers have become prophets of education. They no longer teach what they want. They're stuck to teach what the government, or "God" has told them to teach. I call this religion "No Child Left Behind".

It's illegal to teach that God exists in public schools.

Kansas.
