Author Topic: Noobs and Newbies.  (Read 1507 times)

O.K. I was looking in general discussion and saw the topic "What to do and what not to do is Blockland" or something to that nature, and a guy named Efmu said this:

noob is a new player.

Now this bugged me. I could not tell him what an idiot he is because the topic got locked, so it made me make this.

Noob and Newbies are two different things. Noob may have came from the word newbie, but it now means something different.

A Noob is someone who is a general richard. He is annoying to other players, and gets banned from a server or two for doing something completely nonsensical.
A Newbie is just a new player.

Sometimes noobs are newbies, but it does not mean that all newbies are noobs.

Anyone else get bugged when people say this?

It drives me nuts on how much and wrongly people use the work "N00B" and "Newbie" :/

That word gets annoying.

Only noobs start topics with "O.K."

I follow the U.S. doctrine...
Newbie unless proven nooby.
:P

Only noobs start topics with "O.K."
If that's all you had your attention on while reading the post, that's sad.

I agreed with pocketrocket

every person that says "noob" loses all my respect automatically

I classify "noobs" and "newbies" into "dumbforgets" and "possibly dumbforgets", respectively.
