Author Topic: Small Windows Project Ideas  (Read 1358 times)

*welp* Well, I am creating this thread to acquire some ideas of Windows projects to make.

I know a good amount C (and C++ too, but I think that I'm going to stick with C code for this application) and have decided on undertaking learning the Win32 API. Since the entire thing is somewhat complicated, I think that it would be best to start out slowly by creating small programs then later getting into more complicated things like the Sockets API, OpenGL, etc.

I can't think of anything to develop at the moment, so I probably wrongly posted this thread to inquire the forums if anybody had any ideas for small things that I could make. Thanks.

Don't make me triple post, hehe. All I really want is just some suggestions of small window applications...

How about a little midi-sequencer thing?

Make a shutdown timer.

With a good UI.

Hmm, that would be neat. Ill look into that.

That also would be pretty cool, I would probably make something like a chiptune tracker, or similar.

If you understand C and C++, you could much easier go graphical with C#(at least if you use Visual Studio).

I'd recommend something simple to start with the Win32 SDK. Like a small game or something.

I want one that can make me tea with milk and without sugar when I tell it to.

Jeez is my computer dumb.

Eww, I hate C# and all those .net languages. I use DevC++ anyways.

Yea, I want to create just a simple UI that is useful. If I every create a game, I will probably use SDL or OpenGL.

lolwhat.

My friend just recently made a bidding "game" to practice C++, I think.  You bid on an item with a computer outbidding you.  Whether the computer outbids you or not is random, and you get to choose to keep bidding or stop.

You could probably do that.

Yes, a free one that records, and have it like Keybored.

Sirrus you did it wrong,

Im a Pc, and windows seven is my idea.
