Why? This is un-needed.

Why? This is un-needed.

It's just a simple poll I made to see what types of programs the majority of add-on makers use.

Make multi-choise.. I use milkshape & Google Sketchup pro 7

I use wings 3D occasionally, but mainly Milkshape because its simple and if done correct can have great results.

friend doesn't have Wings.

Don't.

Blender, cant export anything due to an odd error.

It sucks D:

But it can. Your blaming the software for a problem when it's actually your fault.

It's sad. People see Blender's interface and run away to find a bad program that costs money instead of powerful freeware. Look at the videos Blender has made, and then look at Milkshape's. Oh, wait, there are none.

Your a big Blender supporter huh?

However you can use sketch-up I have and it works so quit complaining other people have used their brains and taken advantage of this software. Although I would generally say Milkshape.

True. I tried making my first add-on with it. I got it to Blender and exported it as Torque shape. But something with the mesh screwed it up, which is where it worked perfectly from. Do you export the sketchup file to milkshape or Blender?

And it's very obnoxious when your blaming the software for a problem when it's actually your fault.

My fault?

I've tried fixing, I re-installed it.

Reinstalled Python.

Tryed running the .DTS exporter script, what do ya know it says it cannot find the blender folder.

I read up on it and it says I need a script folder or something.

I make one in the blender file folder put the exporter folder in there and run the script, still can't find the folder.

I tried for 3 days to get it working on this computer.

Then I stopped worrying about it,and will fix it at a later time.

So I DO blame the program, I did exactly what I'm supposed to do and it didn't work so tell me whats would be your idea?

I love blender, its free it has alot of features, and alot of cool things.

You messed up. Scripts in Blender are horribly confusing, in my opinion.

Here's the correct way:

Blender Foundation > Blender > .blender > scripts (if didn't have this folder originally, you messed something up) > Lots of standard scripts, in which you put the exporter. You should never need to create a folder.

Tom

Model with Wings3D, use Milkshape to export.

I haven't made any models in a very long time though.
