There's some bands out there that should've never been made.
Owl city.
Fallout boy.[/b
]And some artists who shouldn't sing.
Justin Bieber.
soulja boy.

Yours?

Every band creator in the past 20 years with very few exceptions. Also all rap/hiphop/rb/alternative/pop/punk/scremo/everything the average kid listens to today.

In my opinion music has suffered a sharp decline and I don't ever expect it to recover. I like most music from the beginning of time up until about 1990.

They're good bands, but their music isn't as great as it's made out to be. You'll learn in due time, young padawan.

First of all, don't loving call me that.

Second, I like their music. I'm not going to magically think their songs suck just because YOU seem to think they're overrated.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves, when people say that you can't like a band because they aren't 'technically' good.

You know a band is good when you like their music. That's the whole point of music.

Anyone that says otherwise can go forget themselves.

When I saw "forget," I immediately lost my sense of appreciation for the rest of your message. You don't understand the point of music, you apparently understand the point of a band. A band wants you to like their music. In fact, a band wants you to buy their music. A true artist (and sometimes a band) wants you to appreciate their music, which obviously you do not know how to do. You also, apparently, don't know "technically" good because if you knew "technically" good, you wouldn't be listening to this generic teenage-crazed bullstuff that everyone seems to be addicted to. I hate anyone and everyone (in a musical sense) who obsesses, worships, or loves these bands. I don't care for your response to my opinion, because hey, it's an opinion, and you apparently dislike my opinions anyways. Nobody is going to change my musical tastes, and sure, nobody's going to change yours.

All this because of you completely missing a harmless joke which you didn't even have to respond to.
Cue the argument, because it's been impending this entire thread.

You're damn loving right I'm going to argue.

You don't understand the point of music, you apparently understand the point of a band.
Where do you get off telling me I don't understand the point of music? The point of music is it's something to enjoy, if you enjoy a song, who the forget cares who sings it, or how 'overrated' they are? If you're so all knowing, why don't you tell me what the point of music is?

A true artist (and sometimes a band) wants you to appreciate their music, which obviously you do not know how to do.
What does that even mean, "I don't know how to appreciate music"? I'll just ignore it for the fact you have no basis to even say such a stupid thing.

You also, apparently, don't know "technically" good because if you knew "technically" good, you wouldn't be listening to this generic teenage-crazed bullstuff that everyone seems to be addicted to.
AGAIN, the reason you listen to a song is because you like how it sounds. Anything beyond that doesn't make a loving difference.

I hate anyone and everyone (in a musical sense) who obsesses, worships, or loves these bands.
Why? You have no reason to hate somebody based on what bands they like, other then you don't like the band itself. The band must be doing something right if that many people like them.

I don't care for your response to my opinion, because hey, it's an opinion, and you apparently dislike my opinions anyways.
Well when you outright insult me, with no provocation, it changes from an opinion, to a personal attack.

Nobody is going to change my musical tastes, and sure, nobody's going to change yours.
Well you seem to think you can change mine by saying a band is overrated. Way to be a hypocrite.

All this because of you completely missing a harmless joke which you didn't even have to respond to.
I said they were good bands, just stating my OPINION. I didn't insult him because I don't agree with him; which is exactly what you're doing to me.

Cue the argument, because it's been impending this entire thread.
If you don't want an argument, don't loving start one.

Ke$ha
INB4thread dissolves,

Kesha is a damn whore. Her picture on iTunes convinced me that she should simply go out and become a stripper, because she has what it takes if she stops making terrible music, and that way she'll actually appeal to men. My Drama aside, the point is I don't actually like Kesha at all :/.

They're good bands, but their music isn't as great as it's made out to be. You'll learn in due time, young padawan.
If you want to judge by performance at ticket offices and awards, Coldplay and Fallout Boy or one of those probably tops it.
Its just not worth arguing about music, its so subjective. Knowing that fact and going on to argue about it suggests an argumentative personality (Not at JD, in general, this sort of thread has happened before. Earlier today, ironically.). Music is good to the man who likes it, not by how many tickets they sell.
If the music happens to appeal to a wider audience and is successful, like Michael Jackson for instance, that is an added bonus. People shouldn't set out to make a hit, but enjoy the process and the surprises that come with it.
Coldplay don't actually /like/ Yellow, and some of their favorite songs aren't album covers.

The Black Eyed Peas /probably/ didn't write Boom Boom Pow with the idea of it being a chart stopper, but because it /sounded/ right.

Modern Music in general sucks

Anyone saying modern music sucks is a friend. First of all, you haven't listened to all modern music, so your argument is already moot.

You know what? I need say no more. I've already crushed your argument.

Edit: Dammit, I have to keep going.

You morons also say stuff like "anything past the 90's sucks." You're 13 or whatever. You only know what your parents have shown you. If you're really that stubborn, have fun listening to the same genre for the rest of your life. I, for one, will not be a huge friend and enjoy anything that sounds good...  yes...  even if it committed the heresy of being created past the 90's.

God man get a grip.
We aren't saying that post 2000, music sucked, but what is regarded as popular music is half rap and a good quarter about people moaning about broken hearts.
Stop trying to say we hate all music.

Yes, because all modern music is monday rap.

All of it.

God man get a grip.
We aren't saying that post 2000, music sucked, but what is regarded as popular music is literally half rap and a good quarter about people moaning about broken hearts.

You overgeneralize and so do I. That IS what they were saying. It's an ignorant arrogant statement and I'm tired of hearing it. If you're too lazy to listen to anything besides radio, that's not my fault.

I have more of a grip than you can imagine, bud.
