Author Topic: Percy Jackson!  (Read 1766 times)

Oh God, nostalgia.
I do love that series.
But I am pretty sure the movie will be bad.  :C

I'm thinking of reading the book for a project, probably not a good idea for a group project but meh.
It's great for just reading it too, man, you should really read them! It's amazing!

im not a fan of action fantasy movies where angst'y teens get powers.
its been done wrong only a million times.
Ever since I was born, I knew that I was created for great things...I was right.

In my state we are forced to read these Caudill books, that are picked by some stuff.

In the 2009 list, the first book was in it, AKA Percy Jackson: Lighting thief.

For god loving sake, make the NAME of the movie the same as the BOOK.

I only read the first 2, I have way too many other books to read to get to read those. I'm working on 2 series, as well as a book I'm forced to read in LA. The movie looks okay, but like Bisjac i think said, way too many books and movies are about kids 12-15 getting super powers and going on little adventures where they come with in an inch of death but remain completely nonchalant.

Powers/Abilities
* Percy possesses incredible physical strength. He tore a horn off the head of the Minotaur, and was able to bear the weight of the sky, the curse of Atlas.
    * Percy has clairvoyant dreams, causing him to watch events in distant locations as an out-of-body experience. This could be the work of Apollo, the God of Prophecy, because he told Percy, "How important dreams could be."
    * Percy has a psychic connection with his friend Grover called an empathy link.
    * In The Last Olympian, Percy bathes in the River Styx (like Achilles), making him nearly invulnerable except in one weak point (the small of his back) and also granting him increased skill, strength, and puts him into a frenzy in battle.

How did you mess up that badly?
The whole story is based around that.

Holy hell, really? Autographs? :D

This was when there was only one book. I didn't think he was that famous.

He did give me some Laffy Taffy because I answered some simple question about Greek mythology correctly.  :cookieMonster:

Movie looks great, but the books....I don't like much books, very picky when iit comes to books.

You too loving stupid to read?

Anyway, I've been suggested to read the books by many people.
