Look at the credits, they state that this isn't the original film. I was also was suspicious how a camera could have survived the decent from space* (thanks dkamm :D) like that, but maybe Im just not thinking hard enough.

I highly doubt they bought a 20 dollar camcorder and duct taped it onto the side of a rocket.
that and when it got passed the ozone layer they deployed a parachute
