On pokemon silver I kept a level 3 Pidgey in the daycare for the entire playtime of the game, so when I finally defeated everything, I went back and managed to buy it out for a forgetload of money.  It was like level 50ish, so when I went out and killed a few pokemon with it it immediately evolved into a Pidgeotto, then a Pidgeot.

Also I found my Pokemon Diamond and I am playing it again, just got all my pokemans to level 30 :)
