When I was 5 I accidentally sat on part of a running lawnmower (don't ask me how I didn't notice I was on a lawnmower because I have no idea). That effect where your nerves are burnt off faster than they can transmit signals occurred and so I didn't realize that I was getting a third degree burn on my right thigh for several seconds. The scarring didn't go away until around sixth grade.
