US was occupied by Indians before the Brits came along, btw. They may not have had an "identifiable" claim to the land according to European standards at that time, but that's why they said that so they could pillage and eradicate the red skins and not have a guilty conscience for being total Riddlers of their day. And don't get me started on them starting the whole slave trade. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the USicans who started that.
