Author Topic: The super duper mod!!!!  (Read 2756 times)

I'm a little tired of the people who make modification topics as they come up with Ideas.
Especially when it's a giant mod that we know will never be completed.

Examples include, but are not limited to;

  • Pikmin Mod
  • Star Wars TDM Mod
  • Battle Field Mod (Jaydee spent considerable amount of time on it, but it remains dead)
  • Dr. Who Pack
  • Survival RP
  • Natural Disaster Mod (Idea was good, but once again. Remains dead)
  • Prototype Mod (A sad example http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=93791.0 )

Etc..

Now, I've had my fair share of "SUPER AWESOME MOD" topics as well.
I think people need to seriously consider the following before making one of these.

1. Will I work on this consistently?
2. How many people do I need on this project?
3. Am I already working on it? Or did I just think of it?

I think Ephi is the only one who lives up to his modification discussion topic.

4. Will someone take the idea and release it before me and make me go on an illogical rampage? ;)

I know what you mean though. Most of the time all it does is get hopes up before the OP says "Oh I'm not doing this" and locks it.

I think Ephi is the only one who lives up to his modification discussion topic.
He seems to be the only one who maintains a modification topic as it should be.
If more people were as focused as ephi. There would be 90% less topics in that section.

however you must remember Ephi is a skilled programmer who has a team of skilled programmers to help him.

Still, hats off to him for RTB, which was well done.

Ephi does all coding/scripting for RTB alone.

Like what? 2 people?

Look, the complexity of RTB compared with Star Wars TDM mod is a large margin.
Star Wars TDM mod would be completely composed of weapons and player types.
Not hard to accomplish. Those people just need to stay focused.

It's not a matter of how hard it is. It's a matter of how willing you are to do it.
(Willing you are?)

Maybe, maybe not.

While modeling is not an obstacle you (in particular, I mean you) must overcome, for many it is the death of a project.
Most if not all of RTB's work requires no modeling.

For many it is the death of a project.
Including mine. I cannot model and no one was willing.

True, but most of the time. People just forget about it, and/or lose interest in the project.
They are capable of modeling.
(A prime example is that Dr. Who pack)

He could model.
He just lost interest in the whole thing.

I agree with this topic. It's like the creators are saying HAHA WE CAN MOD AND YOU CANT AND WE WONT RELEASE HAHAHA

Also vehicle forgettuple. Just saying.

I'm still hoping for those models. I still have the request sitting in that "skill list" no one pays attention to.

They all just list their skills, post a request, and then take off.

Remember this?

http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=92233.0

You conveniently edited out the topic, but I remember you boasting about how you where gonna make like 15 add-ons, and you had 18 pages of request.

And then you end up releasing. 4.

He already stated he's guilty of that.

Add the model paying thread thing.
