Anyway, I prefer flat bars for general prying purposes, breaking and entering and whatnot.

For general alien stomping action I'd go with a claw hammer.

The crowbar can do both well but neither individual task as effectively.

No they are not. A crowbar would make a terrible weapon, there are plenty of more lethal household objects. Like a standard hammer. Crowbars are pretty much just those without the hammerhead. What does that make them? A metal bar useful for prying open things and sometimes removing nails.

 I have one but its the miniature blade under the primary blade. Their used to take inside while the long swords were not, just like you take off your shoes when you walk in the house.
