Probably because you got a virus from downloading "free Anti Spyware 2009"

Are you loving stupid? I bought Nortan Antivirus FROM WALMART!

They wouldn't put something on the shelf and sell it if it's a freaking hive for virus's.

Get AVG or Averia you can buy both or use there free. Just Remember those names when Norton forgets you.

ANDYes it is considered a virus.

Norton works fine. I've been using it for years and have never had a virus. I'll agree that there are better though, like BitDefender.

AVG is awesome. I don't trust it much after it thought iTunes was a virus and deleted it, though.

That ones price is high if it the one im thinking of. I threw a Simple not even hidden virus the make your clock tick backwords and it never found it even when I had it scan it.

How is that a virus?

No, that was Microsoft controlling it.

You don't seem to understand how this software works. They go by blacklisting and whitelisting software. They stop viruses by knowing how they work after they've already infected someone, not before. Virus developers are always one step ahead. Sure they most likely monitor malicious activity on your PC, but making a clock tick backwards isn't malicious...

BitDefender is cheaper than Norton, and, from the reviews I've seen in the last 3 or so years, is usually rated the best.
